We have seen this movie before and what is happening down the road is all too familiar: decades will pass before any kind of judgement against President Vladimir Putin even comes to a court of law. What can happen very quickly is for us to step back from our borders, forget our national identities for a moment, and realize that authoritarian regimes have become toxic to the human community much like tobacco has become a substance that we have learned is not fit for human consumption without dire consequences. Yes; I am using the analogy of how we have come to view tobacco as a toxic substance for humans to ingest. Now with Ukraine's atrocities unfolding, we can see once and for all that authoritarian regimes are toxic for the human family. No one gets anything good out of an autocratic regime except the strongman and his cronies. Look at Hungary's President getting re-elected because all his cronies have bought-up all the media outlets, government agencies and now have a stranglehold on democratic institutions. Hungarians in short time will begin to become brain-dead because anything and anyone with an idea that goes against the grain wlll be dealt with severely. We must put the subject of peacefully dismantling authoritarian regimes on the table of discussion and point out to all parties why the world can no longer have these kinds of governing bodies on the same planet as democratic governments. It's an opinion.
