  1. The MK 14 was very good design but they never adequately tested the weapon before the War. The fleet basically did developmental and operationalal testing for BuOrd. The Bureau's malfeasance was not in paying attention to the warfighters. The Kriegsmarine and Royal Navy had many of the same problems but their ordinance departments listened and corrected their problems in a timely fashion.

  2.  @penguinsscareme  You guess wrong. The famous Browning M2 "Ma Deuce" is the longest serving weapon in the standard inventory. The Browning M1911A1 is still a popular choice with SPECOPS guys but it's not standard issue.

  3. Really? The IDF has gone downtown Tehran with them on recce mission and nobody knew they were there. Sou ng ds fairly effective to me.

  4. Go back and look at every new weapons system since at least the F4 and you find similar problems.
