Would you want to take this into combat over the m4?

@mattmaco9065 please be specific when saying 7.62 (7.62x39) because there is huge power difference
13
@Taskandpurpose wow I wasn't expecting that most former soldiers get attached to what they are use to especially with how high of a approval rating the m4 has. This gun must have been a stand out thank for the video
12
@TheeCambion actually most infantry will run a suppressor with this gun which is why it has the same life span as the barrel
10
@magaman3048 I don't what yours is but the army trains to shoot center mass especially at distance everything I have said has been covered on this channel from a real soldier. I am not sure where you are getting your information from
9
@magaman3048 not even snipers go for headshots and they have the best optics and no 5.56 will still struggle against level 4 no matter the distance. The 6.8 has around 400fps second more out of a barrel that is half the length to say this doesn't improve the 7.62 doesn't support any factually evidence at hand
8
@mattbrolin7045 I am going to take the advice of the person who shot it
7
Chip Whitley that is a complete lie where is your source for that? Do most people in this comment section just pull random "information" from out of nowhere
6
@jamesscott2894 yeah that pretty much sums up public opinion on the majority of us equipment and that isn't just talking about the army either
6
Chip Whitley then show me a source buddy or is your military "friend" busy today?
5
The spear has a shorter barrel and I am not sure it can take that much pressure it was already struggling with 7.62
4
@rjakiel73 This rifle has a higher muzzle velocity out of a much shorter barrel (about 5-9 inches shorter) and it is believed to be more reliable but we will have to wait for more testing
3
@rjakiel73 everything I have said has been public knowledge release directly from the army. Those round where never intended to be smg but light pdws that could defeat body armor and in that metric they preformed outstandingly being in service with numerous police and security agencies
3
@lucascarpelli6954 firing full auto is rare even in close range most choose to go semi auto
3
[HAL9000] ZIGZAG GROUND ZERO they are pretty similar anyways when using the same bullet weight

Welcome to the army

@martino7263 honestly it would probably be better to start from the ground up you be replacing or redesign so much of the gun to keep it from exploding I am not sure it would still be the same rifle
1
@rjakiel73 ok I need to be painfully specific. I was comparing the M14 (like you were) when talking about barrel length. The m4 doesn't have the range or body armor capability which why they want to move away from it. 2,600 fps is about 400 fps slower than the spear so no they don't preform identical
1
@rjakiel73 first. It is going to be between 130-140 grain second The extra 400 fps out of a shorter barrel gives it better long range performance and armor penetration capability. This is a pretty good improvement over the 7.62 all while using the same casing as it. This is not a solution looking for a problem but a direct improvement over the 7.62

@Wh1stle_03 exactly so it isn't a big deal so long as the lmg isn't horrible
