Reading these comments, it boggles, depresses and appals me to see how many people are either in straight-up denial of what's happening, or are steeped in ignorance about the basics of how wildfires start or why droughts are a problem. Please, as a favour to humanity, if you're about to ask a daft question on the internet, or come out with some daft conspiracy theory about weathermen lying for no readily apparent reason, here's a suggestion: spend five minutes using Google. You have all of humanity's knowledge at your fingertips - make use of it.

  3. If you (like me) only see four or five replies under my original post, but there are supposed be 10 or 11, fear not, you're not going mad. YouTube is clipping comments that contain climate misinformation. And thank heavens for that, because if you saw some of the comments that are popping up in my notifications, you might weep.
