@John-kb7pv not sure the Normans made things better. They replaced a far more egalitarian anglo Saxon culture with an extremely exploitative aristocratic class, creating feudalism. And laying the foundations of a heavily class structured society that we have still not fully escaped from to this day.

Lol, a man in Leicester complaining about 15 minute cities. Did he not see the mess Leicester made in the 60s when it priorities car usage . I think they've repaired some of the damage. But that Leicester city ring road was a total mess, a dual carriageway( now removed I believe) passing either side of a historic building. All because of ....cars.

@tomjohnson9833 ANPR and cameras are all the infrastructure they need to restrict and monitor movement. Face recognition can be used for non motorists. 15 minute cities seem like a reasonable idea, compared to the mess that American style zoning has caused in USA. Cities designed with heavy lobbying from the auto and oil industries, preventing things like having a bakery in your suburban sprawl.

@tomjohnson9833 have they? Or do they now have the benefit of scientific study.
6
@tomjohnson9833 that isn't the objection to 15 minute cities though. The objection is that it is some kind of control on the population, to imprison them in their neighbourhood.

dimfm9710 not invaders if suella braverman has stamped signed and approved their visa application. They've asked for permission and it's been granted. That doesn't sound like any kind of invasion I've ever heard of. Furthermore who staffs the NHS?

A holiday? Of course not, but are they here with thexsame intention as William the conqueror. @Dis_some_dope_ass_shit

@tomjohnson9833 lots of things are not outside the realms of possibility. Cameras and ANPR will see to that, not 15 minute cities. The infrastructure is already in place and you haven't said a thing.

@Georgeconna32 lol. Chill out George, Rees mogg is throwing you under the bus now he doesn't have to declare his offshore financial interests, and you'll never know how much tax he is avoiding. But having lied to you, you now fall for his distractions about small boats, and now being charged to leave your house apparently. Wake up, they'll stop at nothing to stop you looking into their tidy little stash. And you've been a good little boy and fallen for it .

@Isochest Oldham, a bit like Benidorm then.

Yes in 1066, william of normandy came over with the intention of taking the crown of england. Of becoming the ruler of the country. An invasion.

@aizac91 so being in the eu is no problem, and ECHR isn't a foreign court. Great. Got it. Why did we bother fighting ww2?

@raulthepig5821 nonsense. Do you believe any old guff you hear. Jesus.

@tomjohnson9833 and what was the population in 1910 compared to 60. Of course these things make a difference, especially when you have a government that unleashed austerity on its population, refusing to build houses, or invest in sufficient services for the number of people. Still we got Brexit so Rees Mogg won't need to declare his offshore financial interests, so you'll never know how much tax he avoided, and now he's got what he wants, you ordinary plebs he promised so much to, can go fuck yourselves, because he doesn't give a shit about you, he's alright jack ..look! Small boats! Oh see how easy you are to distract. Such a good little sheep. Baaaaa. Well done you.

@tomjohnson9833 hybrid and electric vehicles only solve a problem if they get their power from renewable sources. Once we're on fully green energy, things will be very different. Currently electric vehicles are mostly charged by electricity generated with fossil fuels, so it keeps the pollution out of the city. But still comes with a massive carbon footprint.

@tomjohnson9833 supermarkets are a big problem. On top of that is the unique to UK buying at a fixed price structure. Rather than a weekly market price. This is devastating for our agricultural sector.

@lichtabendlenz4866 but you don't know what they mean. Every time you lot open your mouth on the issue it's obvious how clueless you are.
1
@angelsone-five7912 he was talking total bollocks. Guess who fill up the mass graves at the edge of town in conflict zones....it's young men of fighting age selected for extermination. Comparing these people to a military invasion is total hysterical bullshit.
1
@tommyhagan things aren't fine, that's because of the clowns in charge, they desperately want you to think it's the small boats that are making your life shit, not the immature attempts to enact student politics that won them their debates at the oxford union debating society.
1
@IanForster-we2mb all conspiracy bollocks. Some people are so dumb, following conspiracies that keep them under the whip hand of the elites. So gullible, and Brexit is the perfect example, all those promises for the working man, now on the scrap heap, now that Rees Mogg doesn't need to declare his offshore assets. So now instead of realising how much tax he has avoided he is telling you it's all the fault of handful of people coming across in small boats.

@iShriek then explain why Glasgow was for so long the murder capital of Europe,, none of it driven by foreigners.
1
@elCid444 wattle and daub houses.....yep, houses literally made of sticks, mud, and shit.

@Dis_some_dope_ass_shit lol. It doesn't need to be broke, that's just Tories for you.
