  1. No, we don't need to go multi-planetary. The distances and difficulties are too vast, so it makes little sense to send expeditions to attempt it. No explorer will benefit and would need to be willing to sacrifice himself and many generations following him to give humanity a tiny shot at survival. Perhaps somebody will have such values, but I don't. Better for the last generations to just die in luxury on our holodecks.
