  1. You should eventually try to interview some homeless youth of Edmonton Alberta, Canada. The youth shelters here are wild. I’ve spent time in them. The teens there have nothing in life. many are on the run or awaiting court dates, and addicted to many substances. Almost everyone has no less than a machete at all times, and a lot have guns. I’d say there’s more homeless illegal gun owners here than legal ones. it’s heartbreaking to interact with those people. they’re kids. stricken with the absolute worst hands life could’ve dealt. I’ve met a teen younger than myself in the shelter that openly admitted to multiple unsolved murders. they just don’t care. they have nothing to lose and nothing to gain, because they already have everything they need. 3 meals a day. a place to sleep. Private showers. everything. they rob stores for fun at night. they use the term “going home” to refer to robbing liquor stores. they tell the shelter staff they’re “going home”, leave, and come back soon later.
