  5. The 13th amendment allows prison labor as an exception to slavery.... think about that for a moment. When slavery was outlawed, they made prison labor legal in order to fill the void.... and it is still around. It was only in 1929 that the Hawes Cooper Act prevented companies from using prison labor to put commercial goods to market. When will we catch up to civilized society and ban this extension of slavery for profit?

Republicans have been investing in for profit prisons for decades now and this is just an extension of how they bend the law to enrich themselves off the backs of the lower class No human should be allowed to work a life threatening job for $1/hr.
