  2. If they really want to help homeowners keep their house, they would abolish property taxes. Imagine paying off a house when it cost $100k, then you retire and your property value goes up to $900k. You're old, on fixed income, and you can't afford to pay the property tax. Next thing you know you're out on the streets living in your RV (if you're lucky) people gawking at you calling you bum, drug addict, lazy; while police harass you.
