Rhodes, do your research then decide if he was a great man for yourself.I'm not in favour of removing statues but I am in favour of a plaque or a placard displaying an honest account, permanently displayed on the plinth.I recall a very religious relative complaining about the dreadful "pagan" statues in Rome & why they are still there after a visit.This was from a right wing religious fanatic who saw me as a dangerous misguided "leftie".
