  1. It is cheaper to convict someone to a full life sentence than a death penalty. Appeals and the actual cost of death sentence equipment etc are expensive

  4.  @neo-didact9285  Yes, but it is rarely applied. Normally only for multiple murders. Not for all. Lots of barbaric, dictorial regimes full of bigotry and religious intolerance have the death penalty.
