@ashroskell All this because Communism wasn't as 'purged' from the old Soviets as some were led to believe. These guys were resentful after 1991 and went underground and came up with a way to surreptitiously get it all back, their man was Putin, tasked with westernizing communism partly to fool the west and to enrich themselves beyond their wildest dreams.

If Russians believe that Putin has a much better reason for invading Ukraine than they do such as Russia had to attack Ukraine first because Ukraine was going to attack Russia first, then A. what would Ukraine attack with if they know that the West is now supplying UA with weapons and B. if Russia had the 2nd biggest army ever then why be afraid of Ukraine?? It's obvious that most Russians have zero critical thinking and rely on the state as in communism, to take care of them. Communism is not dead over there it just adapted to incorporate Western goodies as it suits Putin and the oligarch empire builders; no kicking in doors but people fall out of windows, die in mysterious ways, go to prison on fake charges.
