@WillVroo another reason the US women’s team brings in less money than the men is because of how new their team is. The USMNT has been around since the 19th century, but the women’s team didn’t first start playing until the mid 1980s. Just like how in the early days of the NBA, players got such low salaries that they had to work side jobs during the off season. Even players on teams like the Boston Celtics who won the NBA championship pretty much every year of the 1960s decade. Tell that to Megan Rapinoe the next time you hear her crowing about how successful the women’s team has been and how many World Cups they’ve won.
