  1. I was driving through these neighborhoods in the late 1990s during the day in an arranged tourist tour in a minibus 🚐. Another kind of drive by, only shooting with our cameras. We also drove the back alleys with a ton of gang graffiti and insights to who was who and where the gang line in the blocks were. I was young and fearless, so super interesting and it was completely peaceful, because as the guide said "Its safe now they are all sleeping during the day, but they come out after dark and all the gang shootings begins". I have never seen so many sneakers 👟 hanging over the power or phones lines on the streets. A pair for every young black man killed. I felt I was in a movie, it was surreal, quiet before the storm in the Leon's den.
