I’ve tried pointing out that Apple is woke somewhere, and was called an idiot, more or less. I don’t think I even went that far and just called them ‘left’. Meh, whatever, I think at this point if you don’t know, you’re just not paying attention.

@zytr0x108 I think you are confusing the corporation for the people who run it and the people who buy their products and advocate for closed systems. While they very much benefit from a capatilist society, they are the same ones who would take away all of your rights if allowed to. Look how anti-competitive they are. Not adopting standards, locking people into their ecosystem, etc. That is not capatilist behavior. Also, their whole 'we care about the environment!' But actually have the worse right to repair and forced obsolescance out of any electronic company.

@zytr0x108 Nah, those are all things that get you labeled as a monopoly, which then will get you broken up. Look at google. To be truly capitalism, you need to skirt that line where you are successful based on having a better product. Some may argue that is what Apple is, but their methods of forcing people to stay with them is not capitalism. It is monopolistic behavior. Think along the lines of merit vs dei. People require Apple products in certain places only because of their apps they have bought lock them in vs actual merit of them being the best. (May be a poor comparison, but I am limited on time to think of another.) Anyhow, you can absolutely have a woke company that is also about making money. Usually it happens when they have SO MUCH money, they no longer care about losing a lot of it.

I am fairly positive he is incorrect about DuckDuckGo. They use Bing as their search engine. I haven't had any issues with them being woke. Then again, I mostly go to the particular sites I visit, and only use DDG for finding tech issues.
