  1. I can empathize with your situation. Leaving the USA was not an option for me either (age, family), but at least I was able to "go where I'm treated better." That is, I was able to relocate from a horrible dystopian, high-tax state (California) to a very decent, clean, lower-tax state with a much less intrusive government. Think (Wyoming, Idaho, Montana, etc.) For me, this was the "better" option. Cheers.

  3.  @natalieroy4849  Sounds as though you've already found your "better place." As for whether or not to seek U.S. citizenship, that's a personal decision. However, I fail to see what advantage you would gain vs permanent residency (green card) status. Voting is rather problematic, as neither major party cares one whit for its constituents, which is why I'm registered as a non-partisan voter. Good luck and best wishes.
