  1. First, they (state of CA) came for the super-rich, but I wasn't super-rich, so I did nothing. Then they came for the normal rich, but I wasn't a normal rich, so I did nothing. Then they came for the merely affluent, but I wasn't merely affluent, so I did nothing. Then they came for the middle class, and, lo and behold, they couldn't find any!
