@BruceWing I don't know anything substantive about that, was it open and honest? That's all that matters ethically. Anyway it's trivial in the grand scheme. Happy that's the worst you can come up with. I have some minor disagreements with him but that's life.

@BruceWing I have a friend who was begging his friends to have sex with his wife, whatever you think of that it's no one's business beyond consenting adults involved. Relationships take all sorts of weird forms, whatever works IMO.

@BruceWing You need to know exactly what promises were made and what they may have evolved into over time. If there was no deception, if there was permission from all parties, then no ethical violations. I doubt you'd look down on divorcees, they presumably violated vows too, nothing lasts forever. And not all couplings or marriages have exclusivity vows. All the GFs I've had, dozens, never have I explicitly agreed to exclusivity, it may have been assumed, I may have tolerated no less but it's her job to request or require that status and it's up to both of us to immediately disclose "extracurricular" activities if they occur. Simple.

@BruceWing What was the agreement between spouses in question? It's not up to YOU to decide the nature of someone else's relationship. Open marriages are a thing regardless of your appreciation or respect for such.

@BruceWing How do you know what oaths were involved? You don't, you are making assumptions based on YOUR notions of marriage. Quit projecting, not everyone is like you, highly ethical ppl can be very different.
