"Known oil reserves" besides shale oil which 10X all the rest but are completely neglected other than the US.

I've scanned the NKLA enthusiast threads and every single one is an obvious naive child. Not a scrap of rationality, reason nor background nor due diligence among NKLA gamblers.

@chinguunerdenebadrakh7022 I always struggle to keep a comment brief as it won't be noticed otherwise. How polluting it is debatable, it does need proper regulations, practices and need not be environmentally detrimental. But yeah--it's made USA not only energy independent but also substantially reduced our CO2 footprint as cheap NatGas replaced coal, ironically allowing US to meet or exceed CO2 targets no other major economy has achieved. Coal is far worse than methane as energy source.

Since when did governments make optimal choices on such things? Almost never. H is DOA for surface transportation.

@geoffreycharles6330 It's been recognized for maybe 150 yrs that there are huge quantities of petrol in vast shale formations all over the globe but it was simply too difficult to extract. Fascinating technology story unfolded in the USA where early this century new methods were developed to extract it at increasingly lower cost, now profitable around $40/barrel. This turned around US production which had been declining since 1973 prior peak to where we now exceed that level of production to become #1 global producer again. Two primary factors allow this new extraction--horizontal drilling where instead of punching vertically through a layer of oil bearing formation the drill can be guided in an arc to go horizontal along the formation Second is "fracking" (controversial and banned in many places including Europe, New York State...) where extreme pressures fracture the shale and sand injected to keep cracks opened and proprietary chemicals assist in flowing. This tech has allowed USA to also become biggest NatGas producer as that is also abundant in such shales. Brazil, Asia, Euro, extensive oil/gas holding shales are now potentially economic producers roughly 10Xing available reserves. I was expecting such tech to be exported globally but for various reasons it hasn't happened. (not that we need anywhere near that much fossil fuel anyway to transition away from it entirely)

Don't forget that subsidies for fossil fuels vastly outweigh those for alternatives which will decay to zero quickly anyway unless renewed by future legislation.

The only characterization I can come to at this point is ponzi scheme. Stock price is above zero only because some other children are coming up with new excuses why it should be.

@ramonpunsalang3397 Exactly and apparently they don't value reputation either.
2
@mylesgray3470 You don't need understanding of ANY of that you only need some common sense OR a scrap of skepticism, OR a little due diligence OR the slightest judgement of character.
2
@mylesgray3470 "Safe" short if there ever was one but these things can defy gravity for much longer than one would expect.

Nice work Sir. One difficult challenge I've not heard much about-- making concrete tunnel support rings out of spoils that are frequently if not constantly changing dramatically in composition, they will need to be modifying the recipe on the fly I'm assuming.

@chrisose Some of us fangirls tune in to you trucking operators for a reality check and appreciate the input. If you purchase and operate 'em you should at least welcome more options and competition in that space I'd imagine. I have long expected T semis to be first only used for shorter hauling, some operators say they don't see any major problems for that purpose. Later as batt mass continues to decrease they will become viable for long range. The tech is not static, it will improve rapidly. One thing I've wondered about but haven't heard mentioned is driver tire wear--I used to have a trucking customer who would check the drive tires when one came in to see how hard it had been driven. With the extreme torque/acceleration available with electric motors I would think that accelerated wear could be a much bigger issue. But then tires have improved dramatically too since my day.

It's not the SEC's job to choose winners and losers only to prosecute blatant provable fraud and manipulation of markets by executives, insider trading and such. Notice how Trevor hedges with vague language. When Elon said: "Funding secured" when it wasn't true and it did have substantial effect on price action, that was a case for SEC, had Elon been foolish enough to sell into that he would have been in serious trouble. If Trevor is caught in bald face lies he will be prosecuted but simply hyping with misleading expectations and projections won't do it, I think he's on thin ice but might get away with it.

@jameskamotho7513 A round number like that is always a rough approximation, like "an order of magnitude". Figure it out for yourself--take the production of a modest section of well developed USA land and extrapolate that around the world. Or Google it.

@mylesgray3470 I have an ME degree too but didn't really use it to see red flags popping up all over. It's astounding how vulnerable some are to blatant deception, T.M. would have (probably was) a good used car salesmen.

@MrCountrycuz Interesting hypothesis but I expect it's still a lot of random Robinhood folks looking for the "next Tesla" as well.

Such sea level rise is NOT expected by anyone actually looking at the science, it's a BS media myth just like this bullshit channel.

PROVE IT.

@subhadityasen5486 That's not an adequate case for H with limited exceptions. Bio fuel from 'waste' cellulose, algae and so on is a far better bet and can be done competitively with petrol. H is going to be 3 to 4X more expensive than diesel unless inexpensive low pressure high density storage is developed, something I've seen touted since the 1980's.

I don't think any of us would be noticing Nikola if not for TSLA's recent spectacular run--it's a limited time gift Trevor will not let slide past. Well done Sir!

Norm T Selling is not the same as utilizing and our stupid governor's executive order might be overturned by the next. Useless Newsom only did that so he can claim credit for what is going to happen anyway mostly before 2030.

@chrisose Although typically on "Elon time", aka. late, for every vehicle offered so far the real specifications have exceeded the hype when independently tested. At some point you just, tentatively at least, take his word for it. I too have been skeptical about batt mass for long range trucking but bats just took a big step in wt. reduction and charging speed increase with more improvements all but inevitable. It may take a few yrs but you too will be driving a Tesla semi (or competing brand E-truck), assuming you drive trucks as implied. And you'll love it.
1
Another way to look at it: You don't expect Elon to be prosecuted for saying FSD or the semi truck are going to be released/produced by date X and missing that date by yr.s. That's up to us as investors to consider and that's a good thing.
1
@jameskamotho7513 It dramatically reversed USA production decline to the fastest ramp up ever, you can't fake that Sport. It works. They can drill another 100 wells per rig in 3 yrs. End of debate.
