Don't forget that subsidies for fossil fuels vastly outweigh those for alternatives which will decay to zero quickly anyway unless renewed by future legislation.

@chrisose Some of us fangirls tune in to you trucking operators for a reality check and appreciate the input. If you purchase and operate 'em you should at least welcome more options and competition in that space I'd imagine. I have long expected T semis to be first only used for shorter hauling, some operators say they don't see any major problems for that purpose. Later as batt mass continues to decrease they will become viable for long range. The tech is not static, it will improve rapidly. One thing I've wondered about but haven't heard mentioned is driver tire wear--I used to have a trucking customer who would check the drive tires when one came in to see how hard it had been driven. With the extreme torque/acceleration available with electric motors I would think that accelerated wear could be a much bigger issue. But then tires have improved dramatically too since my day.

Norm T Selling is not the same as utilizing and our stupid governor's executive order might be overturned by the next. Useless Newsom only did that so he can claim credit for what is going to happen anyway mostly before 2030.

@chrisose Although typically on "Elon time", aka. late, for every vehicle offered so far the real specifications have exceeded the hype when independently tested. At some point you just, tentatively at least, take his word for it. I too have been skeptical about batt mass for long range trucking but bats just took a big step in wt. reduction and charging speed increase with more improvements all but inevitable. It may take a few yrs but you too will be driving a Tesla semi (or competing brand E-truck), assuming you drive trucks as implied. And you'll love it.
