  5. Yes it is but you can only bow and praise at the alter of Tesla to satisfy the Cultists, even if you have an accurate great point they have a meltdown if it's slightly skeptical of their religion.

It could to the extent that they need to import car parts/supplies for that factory, but I believe some 90% will be fabricated at that factory and since it's for the Chinese market the trade war could actually help overall as it may harm competition even more. (not counting the hundreds of Chinese EV companies of unknown viability)

It's like saying organic farm produce can't be viable because it requires inorganic rubber tire vehicles to get it to market. Much of mining today is done via massive electric machines anyway. (I guess your just trolling so you don't need a real point or to have a clue)

Your talking about a tiny fraction of diesel consumption and yes it's likely to continue for decades. Are you really THIS SIMPLE? What does that have to do with the viability of BEVs??? Besides NOTHING. Oh...and had you failed to notice that wind and solar are becoming the cheapest NEW e-power on Earth? "Yeah but they need diesel mining machines too....blablabla!"   12.  Trigger Troll  Your bubble does NOT represent the world, sorry to pop it. Look at the global consumption numbers. If I worked at a tire manufacturing plant I might think it used a lot of fossils too but it just DOESN'T, not on the big picture.

  13.  Trigger Troll  ALL IRRELEVANT. You represent 0.4% of the global population. Most of us won't live in your tiny backwater for just that sort of reason. The numbers I was talking about are where the majority of liquid fuel is consumed and it AIN'T Canada let alone mining.

  14.  Trigger Troll  Norway has some of the highest EV numbers on the Planet, the only penalty is reduced range in extreme cold, otherwise they function much better than traditional vehicles. Going from 350 to 280 miles range ain't a deal breaker for most especially as the charge rate goes to 100 miles in 5 minutes and most of the time folks just plug in at night or at work often for free. Even businesses are offering free charging to get you to stop at their place...get a coffee and snack while gaining another 100 or 200 miles for nothing. You too will drive an EV because sooner or later you will get tired of all the ICE hassles, cold engine battles, ice in fuel lines, air filters, oil changes, injection and ignition problems, well I don't need to tell YOU, lol. Plus you'll get tired of driving the slowest car/truck on the road which ICE already are. I'm not an early adopter and you might be the last but the trend is clear. I still love my BMW S65 V8 but it will be my last ICE car if not truck, a fantastic way to end an era.
