  2. Turkish Nicosia reminds me of the downtown New Orleans of 50 years ago — nice looking privately owned shops, lots of upgrades and a few shuttered places. Very nice, proudly old/traditional seeking modern trade/sales. Greek Nicosia is beautifully modern in streets with the preserved “old quarter,” but not as commercial in the vicinity of the border. All in all, a lovely place. My birth city New Orleans just was rightfully named the murder capital of America. 🥺😢😭. Bad/ no leaders. Corrupt capitalism.
