Only because people don't care enough. So they vote with their dollar and buy the cheap stuff with HF corn syrup. The companies are somewhat at fault for using it in almost everything and I can only hope they are only acting based on industry supply and demand. So theoretically, if the demand to move away from HF corn syrup was high enough, it wouldn't matter how cheap the supply of it was. Although I admit that it is both wasteful and morally wrong to subsidize industries and crops. If a company or farm can't find a way to stay open without gov't throwing money at them, then frankly, they don't deserve to exist.
