These books, including the Torah, were written by and for the jews themselves. There is no Word of God other than our conscience, no Chosen People and no Holy Land. It states the conditions by the British Crown under which the refugee jews were allowed to live in Palestine. One of the conditions is “‘that nothing shall be done which may prejudice the civil and religeous rights of existing non-jewish communities in Palestine”. Mind you, already in 1917.
