@amosjsoma yes but people go to gun shows or buy privately, no check necessary, you just fill in some paperwork, No checks needed. If we close those loopholes and register all weapons sold and than hold those people responsible, when their guns turned up on the Streets of some border town or some US a public school shooting, we would greatly desensitize resale of weapons.
3
Say Cenk is right and the weapons companies are targeting criminals for illegal sales. You would need to prove they are purposely selling guns to criminals. And unless you have some damning evidence, intent is very difficult to prove. The Mexicans have no case unless they have evidence of intent.
2
If the US could close the gun show and private sellers gun loophole, this wouldn’t be an issue.,
2
I would be for better regulations but the problem will always come down to the gun lobby. If mexico wanted to make a valid argument, this is who would be responsible for lax gun laws and loopholes. Though with the way the lobby works, the US is a corrupt mechanism for corporate profit and exploitation. This lawsuit will change nothing, not now and not in the future.

@akmal94ibrahim Fascism is just under the surface in many developed nations and sometimes in your face.
2
@jasonsaenz8959 This guy is a joke
2
@akmal94ibrahim Perhaps they should after the gun walking scandal.
1
@richards4219 You claimed that because the constitution was amended It wasn’t part of the constitution for some reason. Your arguments are devoid of logic and your vitriolic comments petulant and childish.
1
@richards4219 Says the guy who doesn’t understand what it means to amend something.
1
@dirtysanchez941 Yeh I am sure.
1
@richards4219 Idiot. a·mend·ment /əˈmen(d)mənt/ noun a minor change or addition designed to improve a text, piece of legislation, etc.
1
@SeverelyGlitchy And there is a demand for guns as well, what’s your point?
1
@SeverelyGlitchy not a straw man. Not even close. How is demand even pertinent to either issue?
1
@SeverelyGlitchy It was a question of pertinence and my query was merely facetious, which was why i asked "what's your point, in talking About demand?" Demand doesn’t dictate liability.
1
192 billion dollars in weapon sales says they are not going anywhere.
1
@richards4219 Availability of weapons is guaranteed by our constitution.
1
@akmal94ibrahim Trump, Bolsonaro and others like him are in your face. Others under the surface masquerading as democrats and republicans. Sycophantic boot lickers to the donor class.
1
I will never understand how someone can sue because others have misused their product. Recently with the lawsuits with opioids, the only reason why those pharmaceutical companies were liable, was due To their fragrant claims of non addiction. Now if the gun companies said, our guns can’t be used to kill innocent individuals, than I would say their lawsuit has Precedent.
1
Yes they are trying to get paid off, just like they do by the drug cartels trafficking in guns, drugs and human beings. Mexico is rife with corruption.
1
Tessmage Tessera Nice whataboutism. Maybe the US government should sue the corrupt government of Mexico, which allows drug cartels to operate..
1
Mexico is still corrupt to the core and they have no case. It’s like me suing car manufacturers that someones drinking and driving causes harm to me. It’s a frivolous lawsuit.
1
@chencharoo So to cover that precedent, you would need to make a case in how weapon manufacturers have been negligent in safety Mechanisms for weapons. However your only argument is that they shouldn’t sell weapons.
1
@chencharoo Another thing is it’s still not even a whataboutism, as the issue is specifically about guns.
1
@chencharoo IDK what you are talking about, every weapon made is specific to certain manufacturers. And what would better identify a weapon? Do you mean like an RFID chip or serial number? You would have to be more specific for me to comprehend your position.
1
Actually it’s only refined in Mexico but most cocaine comes from Columbia. By the way, there are no companies which produce cocaine, making it impossible to sue as It’s illegal for the most part.
1
They could just pay for trumps wall.
1
@richards4219 Should we go after pharmaceutical companies because people misuse pharmaceuticals?
1
And they would actually have a case. Too bad the judicial bias in the US would render it useless.

@dirtysanchez941 Everything is politics in the post sanity era.
