When Carlson accused the Playboy Playmate Karen McDougal of extorting Trump with her claim that she had sexual affair with him, McDougal filed a defamation suit against him, and Fox News argued that no “reasonable viewer” would mistake anything Carlson said on his show for fact. And the judge agreed.
