  3.  @albrechtnechtan9443  Addiction has always been the #1 health problem in the U.S. Of course, the country has mixed feelings about it. Towns and cities love to build casinos, which adds more gambling addicts by the day. Liquor stores dot the cityscapes. Big Pharm execs will see zero prison time for addiction the poor. Of course, all the Alt-Christians make the quality of life but all but the powerful and wealthy increasingly miserable. Is this a great country or what?

Unfortunately, a comment section isn't a really good way to have a discussion about this issue, which is really central to the quality of life throughout the country. The bad thing is that I don't see things getting better. One man asked me about how to help someone using meth AND heroin. This was a new speedballing I'd never heard of. I did some research: The combination is deadly. Is there a treatment protocol? Nope!!!!

  9. Hope Haven will NOT cost that much money. I kited an idea to the Virginia State Government that it turn a prison or two into two-year locked wards for heroin addicts. (My reading makes it seem that two years clean time gives people a shot, which is why the young woman's tale of only two people she knew recovering rings true.) Replace half the guard staff with drug counselors or train the guards to be substance-abuse counselors. No contact visits. Have NA/AA meetings come in. Time to bring back mental asylums?
