The First Amendment guarantees freedom of and from religion. The First Commandment opposes such freedom. This makes Christianity fundamentally opposed to American freedom and American values. Peace and reason.

@Cinnamonbuns13 Christianity was not in no way assumed on the foundation. Read The Founding Myth by Andrew L. Seidel. Some early revisions of founding documents included religious wording, which was promptly weeded out before the final revisions. They actively ensured no religion was intended in any way as part of the foundation. Suggesting otherwise is just another religious lie.

@brendaann727 No, they weren’t. I’m sure you have been indoctrinated into believing this, as well as your religious beliefs, but you’re wrong. Whatever you mean by “true Christianity” is simply your own opinion. It’s the No True Scotsman fallacy. Let me sow some seeds of doubt for you, if you will oblige me. How many people in the Bible make a first hand claim to witnessing a resurrected Jesus? The answer may surprise you.

@workhardplayhard801 The founders didn’t include “In God we trust”. That made our motto centuries later. The founders were very careful to remove religion from our founding documents. The only inclusion of religion are the two clauses which prevent the government from interfering with religion and religion interfering with government. The Bible makes slavery permissible by your god’s law, right? Owning another person as property, yes? You ask where does the Bible teach hatred? It sounds like you’ve never read it. Maybe you should. The First Commandment stands in opposition to our First Amendment, which makes Christianity fundamentally against American freedom and American values. Growing up, my family did not benefit from my parents putting God first. There are many families torn apart by religious beliefs. You’re just wrong. Besides that, there is no reason to conclude your god even exists. You believe in a resurrection based on nothing more than hearsay.
