It becomes acidic and attacks the rubber yes, It still cools though and that is normally why a lot of people don’t think to change it because in the short term it’s still doing its job it’s just attacking components and making them wear quicker

Nice ls , the one without air suspension is definitely the one to get, that goes for any car in my opinion when buying used.

@donkmeister True I agree I guess I’m coming from the standpoint of owning a car that doesn’t include a really complicated or prone to failure maintenance items but I guess in the grand scheme of things and when you have a use for it you accept the risk or additional maintenance for the benefits.

17 rav 4 water pumped went at 80k my theory is i probably should of done the coolant at 50k how much longer would it of lasted ? Who knows, would it of made it to 100k -120k is that an acceptable lifespan for a water pump.

Same on my rav it’s got a little clunk when turning sometimes. Everything feels tight though and every time it’s in it doesn’t do it of course and nothing is loose.

Totally different class of cars. I’m sure the water pump on a Cadillac is just as much or close. We won’t even talk about doing a fuel pump on a CTS
