  1. A video on the Filipino-American War, or the Insurrection War 1899-1904 would be interesting. In America, schools only cover a paragraph of the war, if they bother to cover it at all. I understand why Americans don't want to discuss this war in details cause it makes America look like a colonial bully but I think its necessary in terms of learning how to beat insurgents and nation build. America defeated the Filipinos not just on the battlefield but actually won the loyalty of the local population by introducing more better incentives than the rebels, like civil rights for all, not just men, multi-party toleration, and providing social programs. This war cost America more lives than the Iraq occupation but their sacrifice was not in vain. Today, the Philippines, despite its own problems, became a huge ally of America and is a democratic country because, America took a genuine interest in developing the nation.
