its not just prices, there is a genuine food shortage happening in India. Fertilizers are in short supply and the ecosystem have been drastically affected for growing crops in India. To survive, India is going to have to import food from major agricultural producing countries. The fact that BRICS still doesn't have a currentcy and the Rupee is not useful in 99% of the world, India is going to have to make some concessions enable to survive. India could make its Rupee fully convertible currency for international transactions which would end India's control of the Rupee. Another option would be for India to forgive debt it has given to the African nations in exchange for farmland. Or, India could strike a deal with the US for grain imports which probably would require that India end its support for Russia invading Ukraine.
