  1. You mean 'in person,' so Aidan and Elizabeth's actor looked like they had more chemistry? Perhaps they do. But I adore Demelza's actor. In the show, Ross and Demelza obviously worked out. This also was written in the novels.

  2. I would agree that Elizabeth was manipulative (to a degree) and self-serving but I doubted that she wanted Ross to 'take' her sexually. Ross chose to not contact her after that night, then she was aware of the risk that she might be pregnant, so she insisted to George to get married asap. Again, it's really not in her best interest to try and have sex (without the certainty of getting married) back then especially when you're in a certain class position. The era was totally different than today esp. dealing with pregnancy. I think Elizabeth was smart enough to know the risks so I doubt 'sex with Ross that night' was really her intention in sending him the note. In her mind, she probably assumed that in the coming days, Ross would do his best to prevent the marriage, but not via having sex with her. She probably thought Ross'd do more for her and plead with her to not go through with marrying George, and promise either to leave Demelza or to prioritize her and Geoffrey Charles financially.
