Al didn't trust Landen's then-husband (she's split up now) with Gannon and Laina (allegedly due to his abusive behavior toward Landen and so on) hence he'd rather have Gannon and Laina with him and Lietecia. Little did he know that his own wife (ex) would be the one who couldn't be trusted.
