Problem with the grain deal was that Russia had demands and these demands were not accepted by the Western powers. Things that would have also facilitated Russian grain and fertilizer exports. Wrong or right, that was the ask. So a peace agreement is not likely in the foreseeable future. There is no meaningful diplomacy between Washington and Moscow at the moment.
