  1. Beginning in 2014-2015 USA has definitely started a gradually escalating trade war with China. So let us at least be honest about this. Then there has been the militarization of the Pacific. As an example, Australia is the most important iron ore exporter to China. And then USA is heavily militarizing Australia and the war drum beats daily in the Australian media. Part of the current situation is definitely Xi. But another part is a backlash to the aggressive American policy, sad to say.
