As a Rolling Stone report points out, Jackson was busted down from the rank of Real Admiral to Captain two years ago as the result of a Department of Defense investigation that found him guilty of misconduct. His Congressional website still inaccurately lists his former rank, stating “As a retired U.S. Navy Rear Admiral with nearly three decades of military service I understand the commitment and sacrifices made by servicemen and servicewomen to serve our country.” The 2021 inspector general’s report, included disgraceful behavior like making "sexual and denigrating statements” about female subordinates, berating subordinates, and consuming Ambien while on duty. A subsequent inspector general's report did not specifically name Jackson, but detailed the highly lax regulations for administering powerful drugs like Ambien, Provigil, and others.
