Afterward, he called the deadly day a "good start" but said the rioters should have been armed. "I’m done with politics, done with peddling lies for other people who don’t care about me," he claimed in court as he broke down in tears. The judge applied a terrorism enhancement to Rehl's sentencing guidelines. He received the third longest sentence to date for January 6th crimes.
