It is crucial to prioritize the needs of hungry children who rely on nutrition programs, sick veterans who require adequate healthcare, and retirees who depend on essential social support systems. While fiscal responsibility and effective allocation of resources are important considerations, it is equally vital to ensure that our policies and decisions uphold the principles of fairness, compassion, and support for those who need it the most. Instead of exploiting the struggles of these individuals, a more constructive approach would involve engaging in productive dialogue, seeking bipartisan solutions, and working towards comprehensive fiscal reforms that protect the most vulnerable members of society without compromising their well-being or the overall health of our economy.

Luna had previously informed the January 6 committee that he witnessed Trump tearing up documents. As an aide, Luna had close access to Trump during the final weeks of his term and was in regular contact with him on January 6. During his testimony, Luna recounted a tense and unusual moment when Mark Meadows, Trump's Chief of Staff, instructed him not to enter a room before a meeting with state Republican legislators who sought to overturn the 2020 presidential election results. Luna recalled Meadows specifically telling him, "Do not come into the room today," even though it was typically Luna's responsibility to ensure the president's comfort in such situations.
