I thought socialism was good. Higher taxes on the rich. Universal healthcare. Social programs for helping the poor. Government funded schools all the way to university. Infrastructure, such as power production owned by the government. Jails, hospitals, military, run by the government.

@CX-ru1ql From what I understand, Quebec was making a lot of money by chopping down forests and selling lumber. There were large areas that were bare. You can't just go around raping everything. It is not going to last forever. The republicans of the USA have this idea "drill baby drill". They have no plans for the future.

@domenicdapice7218 It is a shame. All South American countries could get as rich as the USA and Canada in terms of science and technology. They are all neighbors.

I imagine that it means to take away the rights of other people via government rules such as placing a ban on abortion. Controlling information: placing a ban on books that talk about LGBT, books about marriage that don’t fit in with christianity. Banning science books (Tenessee and somestates made teaching Evolution theory illegal for a while in the 1920s). Claiming that your political opponents are traitors to the country and that they should be jailed or executed. Donald has made such claims about Obama, Hillary and various people. Wanting to turn the country into a theocracy: wanted to jail or kick out atheists first and then kick out people of other faiths.

Actually, my parents decided to come to Canada. There is no reason for me to go back since I am not an arab. In fact, not even the arabs want to go back to their Lebanon. "No such thing as free unless you don't work." ==I didn't claim that these services were free. The system is done to lower the difference between the rich and the lower classes. That is what democratic socialism is.
