@Reman1975 PART 1: I know a couple guys that are like that. One guy told me he spends 10,000$ a y on PC hardware. He buys it cause he loves hardware. The other guy I knew, he was always buying something new and used. But he never uses it. He says he has a few boxes of cellphones under his bed, brand new, never used. He bought a used AM chocolate D R9 graphics card. I think it had 2 GB. That was in 2014 so that R9 was a very high end card. He payed 300$, brought it home and put it in a drawer. Every day, I asked him if he installed it. Nope. After 1 month, he finally opened his PC and installed it. Never turned on the PC.

@Reman1975 PART 2: I asked him to give me all his old cards since I want to take the gold from the contacts as a chemistry project. There was a noname RAID card for SATA drives. The driver was for win chcolate XP so I can’t use it.

@Reman1975 PART 3: There was a Ada chocolate ptec RAID card, full box, with manual and CD. He bought it brand new. He never used it. It was useless since the driver is for win 95 and win chocolate NT 4.

If you are into core counts, then I think you should get a Ryzen 1800 or 3800 or whatever with the number 8. You get 8 real cores times 2. I think the 3800 has 32 MB of L3 cache. The i 8700K has 6 core 12t, I don't know the L3 cache. Maybe it is 6 MB?
