@TheVCRTimeMachine "I don't know any religious group that shames people for wanting to have sex." ==In christianity, it is looked down upon someone who has sex before marriage. This was specially a big deal 50 y ago. Now, a lot of religious groups seem to have lightened up. The mormon solution has been to push the teens to marry early.

@owatson7648 It's sort of like the islamic law and jeinsertwordwish that says don't eat pork. Why not? What does it mean that it is unclean? Why can't they drink ethanol? Why not drink in moderation? Also, there are muslims who do drink and do recognize it as a silly rule.

@owatson7648 In terms of environmental pollution, almost everything humans do cause pollution. There are no antipollution rules in the abrahamic religions since that concept did not exist at the time that the primitive men wrote those books. The book of Mormon is a ~1830 book, which is pretty recent but again, there is no concept of pollution. The rules about not eating shellfish and certain animals doesn’t make sense in modern times. Lots of people eat them and they are doing fine. I have seen some videos by muslim apologists about pork. I think there was a maggot or something. It’s just apologist none sense as usual. The mormons ban drinking coffee. Why? It has health benefits. Drinking 3 to 4 cups of coffee a day may reduce your risk of liver cancer and other alcohol-related liver diseases, according to a new study. Modern mormon apologists try to make the usual excuses about caffeine being bad. Certainly, drinking too much cola is bad for your teeth and liver (due to fructose) however, their original rule was to ban hot drinks. Some say that this is related to being against England. If you are going to insert health related rules into your religion, then why not insert more? There are tons of medical research that talks about health. Also, the religious leader can make rules. Any idiot can make rules. It doesn’t take a genius to do that. Finding actual solutions to a problem is something that the bozo religious leader cannot do.

@owatson7648 I am just making conversation. I am talking about how the jeinsertwordwish, mulsim, mormon religions have silly rules. I am not against religion. I realize that some people believe in some of these religions and I think people should be free to believe in whatever they want. Just bc I criticize these religions doesn’t mean that I think they should be banned. So what we are talking about is dosage in the case of ethanol and drugs. Why ban them when you can drink a certain quantity and take pleasure. I also talked about eating pigs, shellfish and a few other creatures. They just call it unclean. But what does unclean mean?

@owatson7648 In my case, I don’t drink ethanol since it burns my throat, such as in the case of whiskey, vodka. Wine and beer doesn’t taste good. If it is one of those drink called coolers, I think they contain 0.5% ethanol, those taste good. I don’t understand how other people drink whiskey and such. I don’t understand how they handle smoking. Just pork on its own doesn’t taste as good. Same for beef. They require seasoning. Bacon is very good. Yes, I have heard that jeinsertwordws put in a lot of effort to wash a steak. I’m pretty sure that these religions, and all religions are man made. The religious leader doesn’t have the talent to do scientific research, so the possibility of discovering refrigeration is out of reach for him. Humans access the lowest hanging fruits first on the apple tree. So, the easiest thing to do was to claim that the gods forbid it after he had a lot of stomach pain. Hundreds of years later, people worship such rules as being absolute perfect rules from a perfect god.
