Boycott is biggest lie in human history. When was the last time it actually was successful?

I don’t remember a part of history where a dictatorship digitalized mass surveillance and gave its citizen score based on their obedience. Perhaps you read one too many dystopian trash novel?

@zhihaoge5872 你还有资格说他们是嘴炮<.< 我对中共的看法是无所谓。喜欢的继续住大陆,不喜欢的出国。何苦瞎jb在这里吵呢?

@block4565 you live in a world of fear and doubt, distrusting your own elected official and decision of your fellow countrymen. You are the snapshot of flaws in democracy. You assume power will always lead to corruption, you wish society to wait idly while private company round up as many technologies and patterns as they can. You forget the rest all power bends to wealth, and a government that doesn’t adapt is doomed to be replaced by a more cold-hearted successor. I honestly don’t agree what the OP said, but if you are not willing to considering this problem from his perspective, then I guess it’s only right for your opinion to go into the trash as well

@kurdistanindependance5471 free speech is never meant to be equivalent. No matter how much u scream here, that guy will change his mind by reading ur comment. Free speech is truly the greatest illusion today’s democracy offers. It gives the sense that people have some sort of power. I think the only thing a democracy need is voting right, anything else are just ideological policies

Well, successful dictators these day don’t rely on secret police, but your neighbour

Bad comparison. The reason surveillance became normalized is because it becomes invisible.

What possible interest does Canadian truckers have to lose when it comes to a Chinese surveillance system?

@Eayala17 I’m not with anyone here but you are mostly wrong. Japanese kanji and Chinese Hanzi are same, tho Chinese write in a more simplified style. His name is “Ueno isamu” in Japanese, which is pretty normal. But if you read the name in Chinese “Shang Ye Yong” it’s pretty awkward. Chinese don’t normally have the second character “Ye” in their name as it stands for “wilderness”. And “Ueno” is a common Japanese last name, yet neither “Shang” or “Shang Ye” is all that common in Chinese. In fact I don’t think “Shang Ye” is a real last name because there are only a handful of two-characters last name in Chinese. That being said, it’s just a god damn name. I have a Japanese name and a Chinese name. Doesn’t mean anything at all.

@dreadedkitty980 a “free Tibet” is bit misleading, the real slogan should be “a independent landlocked Tibet that will undoubtedly be under the influence of India”

To fear and worry about China is not a solution. I don’t think anyone would look at this and say “yes that’s amazing”. But the reality is, the West will have to adapt to these new technologies one day as well. So, start putting our tax dollar in building regulation, supervision, and accountability. Let’s not kick the can down the road again this time
