I’m an American and my dad was born in a British territory. I didn’t grow up knowing anything about the monarchy besides tabloids because I didn’t have any world history class. I don’t see the purpose of it today. Maybe years ago when their rule was more pronounced. But last year I traveled to many countries, European, African, Middle Eastern and Asian and learned a lot including those who got their independence from it.

@maricalaubscher7196 Disclaimer, from what little I know, the problem I have with the monarch is the same I have with most governments leaders. They are enriching themselves while the majority of their citizens are struggling.

@maricalaubscher7196 Thank you for saying that. I went to Morocco and Egypt last year and do remember they have a monarchy as well. I do admit, I do not know all of the territories UK owns still or owned. It seems like they owned the entire world. Lol. I’m learning by traveling and I do plan to visit multiple Africa countries in a few months.
