  2. Inflation is caused by greed. No other reason. If people start making more money, vendors of goods and services think "Oh... they can afford more things now. Well then, let's jack up the price." Let's look at the price of housing, for example. During the 70's and the 80's, thanks to the women's movement, more and more women entered the workforce. Suddenly, a married couple had two incomes, instead of one. So, landlords and home sellers started raising rents and jacking up the prices of houses. This is why, today, almost nobody can survive on a single income. Housing simply costs too much and it's all because of GREED. When housing goes up, everything goes up.
