  1. I commend your wiser instincts to have this conversation...the whole, "old vs new world" thing is an oversimplification and an unhelpful distortion when you put so much weight on it.

  2.  @heavythingslightly  Yeah I get that, Ive been to some of those places in the world. What I found refreshing in this episode was his pushback against, as you say, your gripe with modernity. You kinda throw things out like, "what even is American culture?" which is def gripey. I think your old/new world rhetoric works best when talking about Appalachian magic. Also, It sometimes feels like I'm heersing your brothers voice in your "gripe" with modernity, so I kinda wonder how much of this is you wrestling with lil bros unrelenting influence. Like I said I commend you for having conversations that challenge your more deeply held...gripes. Keep it coming!
