Actually , Oranges are Generally speaking GREEN on the Tree and Ripen to an Orange colour , once PICKED . Timing for Market crucial here . Small window . Food Dyes ARE common enough , but , honestly , the Less the Better . Most are really about Market presentation . Nothing more .
