  4. Actually . Australian Police have an Item on their Person , that MUST be with them at ALL Times . It is called a Warrant Card . It is the Police Equivalent of a Military ID . Good Quality Mug-Shot , Date of birth , Rank , and Official SERVICE NUMBER . This Warrant card is the ACTUAL Item that " Warrants" them to act as a Police Officer . NOT the Badge . Citizens are required to Identify at any time to Police , by Law , and Police MUST ALSO present their Warrant Card , on Request , to any Citizen . This is worth knowing about .

Fact is , those COULD have been Federal Officers , BUT , they would simply Contain the Situation , and call for LOCAL Authorities to " Clean Up " . Police are Police are Police , but have different Jurisdictions .
