Steel was still a bit scarce but there was LITERAL Square Miles of Aircraft Alloy Skin material lying around . Produced to make Spitfires , Lancaster's and Beau-fighter's etc , from . I think the U.S. used the same material for " Aluminum Siding " on Houses . The big problem was , wherever Aluminium and Steel had to Meet Up , it created BAD Corrosion issues .
