  2. Winton is Little Circuit in Regional Victoria . Middle of nowhere . All still Cat's , Detroit's or Cummins . But turned up to 2000 hp plus . The Euro Trucks also do this : Volvo , MAN . DAF , etc . The AMERICAN Trucks are Carriage builders and fit Proprietary engines from Caterpillar , Detroit or Cummins . Mack build their Own Engines . The European Trucks the name on the front builds EVERYTHING . Whole drivetrain . Japan same . Most of these Race trucks use a Tricked up Auto . Manual select , Auto shift . Usually Allison or ZF . Truck STEERING is Worm and Nut type . Power assisted . A standard " Working " Prime-mover/Tractor unit when Bobtail is as fast or Faster than most cars . 2 - 3,000 lb/ft of torque makes it so . They have most of the REAL weight down low , between the Chassis Rails . Handle remarkably well . The Cabs aren't that heavy and are Rubber Mounted . The Brakes are HUGE disc brakes . 16 inch diameter , 2 - 3 inches thick .Tyres are the problem . No such thing as REAL race tyres for a Truck .
