  3. Hey there Ian . It's my understanding that the BRM's actually used an X-16 Layout . Specifically , Two Flat 8's , Siamesed together One above the other . Geared together into a Common Output Shaft . A much more Compact Package , but still HEAVY . BRM's were NOT renowned for reliability .
